Redstick forces attacked the fortified camp of General John Floyd's army (dubbed Camp Defiance) in the
predawn darkness of January 27, 1814. Floyd's army was nearly routed before forcing the attackers to
withdraw.

The battlefield lies on private land near the confluence of Calabee Creek and the Tallapoosa River in present-day
Macon County, Alabama. There is currently no marker commemorating the site.
