Battle of Tallushatchee
Tennessee forces under the direct command of John
Coffee defeated a Red Stick contingent at Tallushatchee
on November 3, 1813. The Red Stick village was located
less than ten miles from Fort Strother on the Coosa
River.  

The historic marker interpreting the battle, placed on
Highway 431 near Alexandria, Alabama in Calhoun
County, is currently missing. The site of the battle is
located just off Calhoun County Road 144, a mile west
of US 431.
