British Invasion Route
Many of the sites associated with the British
invasion route, such as Cat Island, Pea Island,
and the Fisherman’s Village, are only accessible by
boat. Bayou Bienvenue, the route followed by
the British to Chalmette, is crossed by Louisiana
Highway 47 south of Highway 90.
