Ellicott Stone
This stone, marking the 31st North Latitude, was placed by Andrew Ellicott during his
survey of the U.S.-Spanish boundary in 1799 per the terms of the Treaty of San
Lorenzo. The marked the southernmost border of the Mississippi Territory at the
beginning of the War of 1812.
