Located in Gwinnett County, Georgia on what was once the boundary between the Cherokee Nation and the state
of Georgia, Fort Daniel was constructed by the Georgia militia in 1813 for the security of area settlers.
The fort site is the centerpiece of the Fort Daniel Historic Site and Archaeological Research Park, located at 2505
Braselton Highway (Hwy 124) in Buford, Georgia. It is maintained by the Fort Daniel Foundation.
