Fort Mitchell
General John Floyd ordered the construction of Fort Mitchell in November of 1813 to serve as a base of supply
for his expedition into Creek territory.  Floyd’s army regrouped at Fort Mitchell between its sorties into Creek
territory and the resulting battles at Autossee and Calabee Creek.

This reconstruction of the fort stands near its original location in Fort Mitchell Historic Landmark Park, on Highway
165 a few miles south of Phenix City, Alabama.
