Fort Montgomery
Fort Montgomery was built in the fall of 1813 a few miles
from the site of Fort Mims by Colonel Thomas Benton to
serve as a supply base. General Andrew Jackson gathered
a force at the fort before moving on Pensacola in
November of 1814. Later, the fort was occupied by
troops under Major Uriah Blue while conducting raids
against Red Sticks.

The site of Fort Montgomery is believed to be just west of
Highway 59 in Baldwyn County, Alabama, about two miles
southeast of Fort Mims. The site is unmarked, and its
exact location unknown.
